Rick F. Davis, D.M.D.
University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry
Dr. Davis has been with Oxford Family Dentistry for over twenty years. He is a homegrown member of the community who graduated from Oxford Area High School in 1971. Never straying far from his roots, he continued his education locally by pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Lincoln University. One of the aspects of dental care that has always held an interest for him has been the crafting of dentures and partials, mainly because of the time he spent as a dental lab technician prior to becoming a dentist. Rick is known for his collection of sports memorabilia, a hobby he has enjoyed sharing with his sons over the years, and is made evident by the prominent displays throughout the dental office.
Stefan Speck, D.M.D.
University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry
Dr Stefan Speck has been with Oxford Family Dentistry since 2001. After receiving his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania he stayed on as an instructor and practiced dentistry in Philadelphia while his wife completed her medical residency. Stefan is a devoted husband and father. When he isn’t at the office, he’s almost always maintaining a very active lifestyle with his wife and two children. As an active sports enthusiast, his family vacations are often spent skiing and snowboarding, and he also enjoys recreational mountain biking and running in his spare time. The aspect of dentistry that interests him most is the area of cosmetic and restorative dentistry, using crowns, bridges and implants to restore the cosmetic appearance as well as functionality and integrity of the teeth.
Debbie – Registered Dental Hygienist
Debbie has been a dental hygienist since 1988 and has been caring for patients at Oxford Family Dentistry since 1997. She studied Dental Hygiene as well as Computer Systems Technology at Luzerne County Community College. As a busy mother of three children she likes the flexible hours that she is able to work as a hygienist, and the interesting people she gets to meet. Conversations with “grownups” at work is another aspect of her job that appeals to her – something I think most mothers can relate to.
Rachel – Registered Dental Hygienist
Rachel has been with Oxford Family Dentistry since 2003. She holds an Associates degree in Dental Hygiene from Allegany College of Maryland and is currently a member of both the ADHA (American Dental Hygienists Association) and the DDHA (Delaware Dental Hygienists Association). One of the things Rachel likes most about working at OFD is the variety of people she meets – she’s always learning something new from her patients. As it is important to her that every one of her patients feels comfortable, she will always take the extra time to ease any concerns they may have with their dental treatment. Rachel has a long list of hobbies including photography, traveling, reading, rock climbing, backpacking, and spending time with her husband and her dogs.
Ashley – Dental Assistant
Ashley received her training at Dental Careers Institute and has been a dental assistant at Oxford Family Dentistry since 2006. She really likes the variety of people she gets to meet throughout her day and finds all of the dental procedures she assists on to be fascinating. In her free time she enjoys running and camping.
Jamie – Dental Assistant
Jamie is home grown – born and raised in the Oxford area and has been a dental assistant since 1999 after receiving her training at Dental Careers Institute. She has been with Oxford Family Dentistry since August of 2009 and enjoys assisting in general dentistry because she gets to experience a lot of different procedures. The thing she like the most about her job is the wonderful, friendly staff that she gets to work with every day at Oxford Family Dentistry. Her distinctive laugh often echoes throughout the office – when she is not at work she is kept busy chasing after her two year old son.
Terry – Dental Assistant & Receptionist
Terry is both a dental assistant and a receptionist so you will see her both behind the desk and next to the dental chair. She loves the people here and likes to tell people that she “came with the building” 16 years ago. Being able to do a lot of different things on the job keeps her on her toes. Terry enjoys spending time with her family - she’s always in a full house during the holidays. She never liked to travel until she took her first cruise-now she’s hooked on cruising!
Dina – Office Manager
Dina has worked in the dental field since 1979 and has spent a good part of that time at Oxford Family Dentistry. She always like to make sure that everyone is greeted with a warm welcome and treated like family. The friendships and relationships she has made thru her job is one of the things she enjoys most about working at OFD. Dina is known for her love of beautiful jewelry and loves spending time with her other jewels – her “grand babies”. Her hobbies include cooking, baking and reading as well as boating with
her family.
Phyllis – Receptionist
The pleasant, gentle voice you quite often hear on the other end of the phone is Phyllis, the receptionist. Originally from New Jersey, she planted her roots in Oxford where she raised her family. She came to Oxford Family Dentistry in 2002 equipped with many years of experience in dental care. Phyllis loves the patients and always tries to do what she can to accommodate their needs. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, playing the piano and going shopping.
